Luis Simón (b. 1981) holds an M.A. in European Studies from the Institut d’Études Politiques de Paris and the University of Bath (Euromasters) and a B.A. in International Relations from the London Metropolitan University.

Luis is now a pre-doctoral fellow at Royal Holloway, University of London on the European Foreign and Security Policy Studies Programme of the Compagnia di San Paolo, Riksbankens Jubileumsfond and VolkswagenStiftung. His Ph.D. dissertation regards Franco-British-German views of the European Union and the Atlantic Alliance.

Between April and June 2009, Luis was a Visiting Fellow at the European Union Institute for Security Studies, an official agency of the European Union, which provides foreign and defence policy guidance to the European institutions. In the past, he has worked on Franco British security policy co-operation in the framework of the European Security and Defence Policy.

Luis’ research interests include the politics of the European Union, the Common Foreign and Security Policy, Transatlantic Relations, International Relations Theory, and French, British and German Foreign and Security Policy.
